SPECIALIZATION

Students receive specialized knowledge enabling them to start a successful carrer.

The duration of practice in the chosen sport for each student ranges from 2 to 3 semesters, depending on the sport and the successful completion of all the other courses, is a prerequisite.

SPORT SCIENCES
Philosophy and objectives.
The aim of this route is to provide students with the academic background and practical skills, necessary for sports and exercise science.
Knowledge develops through and applied study programme in exercise physiology, sports psychology and biomechanics.
Studies in exercise physiology are designed to cultivate the academic comprehension of biological and functional concerns in the physiology of sports.
Studies in sports psychology aim at using material from cognitive, social, developmental and experimental psychology and applying that knowledge in the interpretation of behaviour in sports.
Studies in Biomechanics focus on the scientific study of movement and they are designed to demonstrate the information and skills necessary for the understanding of human motion.
This route aims at:
  • Helping students comprehend the application of biomechanics, physiology and psychology in the scientific study of exercise and sports.
  • Providing students with abilities and skills which will ensure the safe and successful application of the academic knowledge they have received and of their practical skills in exercise and sports.
  • Providing students with the ability to advise others in exercise and sports.
  • Promoting initiative and scientific thought.
  • Developing a research basis for further study.

SPORT MANAGEMENT
Philosophy and objectives.
This route offers students knowledge in specific sectors concerning management and develops the knowledge and skills that are academically related and suited to their profession.
Management techniques already applied in the industrial sector are used in the sports industry with increasing frequency.
The selection of qualified personnel is vital.
The program is designed to offer the skills and abilities for an efficient and successful contribution to a sports organization.
This route aims at:
  • Providing an educational basis in the academic and practical study of sports management.
  • Offering specialized studies, answering to the current and future vocational aspirations of students.
  • Developing the ability to apply the knowledge and skills obtained during the studies.
  • Promoting initiative and scientific thought in the applied study of sports management.
  • Developing a range of skills and techniques, necessary for the pursuit of competence in sports management.

STUDY PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Notes for the students:
  1. All the students follow the same program for four years with the exception of the sport specialization where each student a sport he/she prefers.
  2. The students must obtain a score of 275 in the TOEFL exam, or any other relative English exams (CAE, CPE) in order to be accepted for studies abroad.
  3. Students must obtain a number of necessary credits for each level, otherwise they will not be allowed to continue to the next level of the program.
