|APPLYING FOR A VISA|
|In order for a foreign student to apply for a residence permit in Greece, he will require:|
|1.||Acceptance issued from the College of Sport Sciences|
|2.||Ability to guarantee study and living expenses in Greece|
|Once the above criteria have been safeguarded, the following documentation must be forwarded to the Greek Consulate General of the prospective student's country of permanent residence:|
|b)||Certification letter stating the acceptance of the student to the College of Sport Sciences|
|c)||Notarized statement that guarantees living and study expenses in Greece|
|d)||The prospective student's criminal record issued from the country of permanent residence|
|Once the above documentation is accepted, the prospective student will be issued a 3-month VISA in order to enter Greece.|
|RESIDENCY PERMIT PROCEDURE|
|RESIDENCY PERMIT PROCEDURES FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS STUDYING IN GREECE|
|Upon arrival to the country, it is necessary for the student to obtain a residency permit by forwarding the following documents to the Immigration Services in Athens:|
|1.||Certification of registration of the student at the College of Sport Sciences.|
|2.||Confirmation of valid health insurance in Greece, or confirmation of the completed application procedure for this.|
|3.||Passport and 3 passport photos.|
|4.||Certification of health; issued by any Greek public
hospital where the student undergoes a physical examination to certify
that he does not carry any disease dangerous to public health - as
stipulated by the World Health Organization.
A small fee of about 6 EURO is payable to the hospital by the student for an X-ray and health check-up from a GP.
|5.||Verification of financial support throughout the student's studies in Greece by providing written parental/guardian guarantee as well as written proof of moneys available at a bank.|
|6.||Personal statement (on official document paper) naming the exact address of the student in Greece.|
|7.||Bank receipt to the amount of 146 EURO, payable to the local Greek Inland Revenue Office.|
|The College of Sport Sciences will provide all the necessary support and information in aiding the student to acquire all the necessary documentation mentioned above.|
|Graduates of Sports Sciences can ensure successful careers in the following areas:|
|Studies in the CSS place great emphasis and prepare students for the start of their own business enterprise. There are special courses on administration which interest every professional. The academic organization and credibility of the CSS become apparent by the acceptance in the best state universities abroad of the graduates for postgraduate studies abroad leading to Masters or Ph.D. degrees.|
|DURATION OF VALIDITY OF RESIDENCY PERMIT|
|The residency permit is valid for one year. The student
can therefore renew the permit every year. The total number of times that the student
can renew his residency permit is equal to the total number of years of study, plus an
additional half of the total number of years (if necessary). Thus, for the study needs
of the College of Sport Sciences, the residency permit can be renewed for 4 years and,
if necessary for the completion of studies, an additional one or two years (depending
on the student's study needs).
The residency permit can be renewed for a further year if the student wishes to learn the Greek language, once having completed his studies.
|RENEWING THE RESIDENCY PERMIT|
|For the renewal of the yearly permit, the student must
complete an application form 2 months prior to the permit's expiration date, at the
local municipality or community centre of student's place of residence in Athens,
Attached to the application form, the student must also include a confirmation letter from the College of Sport Sciences verifying the student's continuation on the program of study and his participation in examinations.
|APPLYING FOR A WORK PERMIT|
|ISSUING A WORK PERMIT FOR PART-TIME JOBS AS A STUDENT|
|The vocational team at the College will assist in
finding the student part-time work opportunities at Sports organizations,
gymnasiums or any other sports facility of their specialization.
Moreover, during the summer period, the students can be given the opportunity to work as health instructors; lifeguards etc. at hotels all over the country and on islands.
Furthermore, students can also be employed in care facilities for people with special needs, or as nutrition assistants at Health/Nutrition Centers.
